Research: Implementation and Evaluation of an Evidence-Based Guideline for Management of Pediatric Asthma Exacerbations in Community Emergency Departments.

Alison Curfman

Research: 1) Global Fusobacteria Study: A 65 center international study that examined anaerobic blood culture techniques at sites across the nation, and seeks to characterize the clinical presentation of Fusobacteria bacteremia and Lemierre’s syndrome, a rare but often fatal infection that occurs usually in previously healthy adolescents. The goal of this project is to identify risk factors for Fusobacteria bacteremia to aid clinicians in early diagnosis and treatment of this disease.
2) Transport Telemedicine: A quality improvement initiative to implement telemedicine communication between the transport team and medical control in pediatric transport.
Hobbies: Alison enjoys spending time with her family, including her husband and kids. She also enjoys running and cooking.

Lindsay Clukies

Research: Identifying patients requiring early transfer to the PICU following admission from the ED. We plan to characterize these patients and create a clinical decision tool to help triage patients from the ED.
Hobbies: include running, taking my dogs to the park, hockey, sporting events, concerts and going to new restaurants.
