Pediatric Endocrinology Administrative Staff

The Division of Pediatric Endocrinology and Diabetes provides inpatient and outpatient specialty care services and consultative services for St. Louis Children's Hospital as well as outpatient services at Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital. Patients come from the Greater St. Louis area and surrounding areas of Missouri, central and southern Illinois, western Indiana, northern Arkansas and western Kentucky.

Patients are seen for a variety of endocrine conditions including:

  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Disorders of growth
  • Pubertal development (delayed or early)
  • Thyroid disorders
  • Adrenal disorders (including adrenal insufficiency, Cushing syndrome, and congenital adrenal hyperplasia)
  • Hypopituitarism
  • Disorders of bone and mineral metabolism
  • Hypoglycemia due to hormonal or metabolic abnormalities

The consultation service works especially closely with the Departments of Neurology and Neurosurgery in the management of children with pituitary/hypothalamic disorders as a result of tumors or other CNS lesions. The service also has close collaboration with the Cystic Fibrosis Center in Division of Allergy and Pulmonary Medicine in the management of patients with cystic fibrosis-related diabetes and those undergoing lung transplantation.
