Dr. Van Hare is Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Pediatric Cardiology. Dr. Van Hare's main clinical interest is in the area of heart rhythm disorders in children as well as in adults with congenital heart disease. He has been active in the field of pediatric electrophysiology since 1988 and has been a leader in the development and assessment of new methods for the management of arrhythmias, especially radiofrequency catheter ablation and cryoablation. He is a past president of the Pediatric and Congenital Electrophysiology Society (2007-2009), and is a past president of the Heart Rhythm Society (2017-2018). He currently also serves as a Medical Officer for the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) in the Office of Cardiovascular Devices, in the Center for Devices and Radiological Health.
