Wednesday\, August 21st 2019! The bus will be located at Hope P
laza on the Washington University Medical Campus from 10:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
This highly interactive and eye-opening mobile tour utilizes virtual realit
y and gaming technology to help people better recognize their own unconscio
us biases or blind spots that can narrow vision and influence behaviors.

Touring the bus can take 5 to 30 minutes and includes interactive and i
mmersive elements\, including:

Wake up call: On
a wall of ringing phones\, participants pick up a receiver and overhear co
nversations between landlords\, tenants and potential renters that reveal
unintended bias.

Look through a different lens: Vi
a gamification and a digital viewfinder\, participants watch an interaction
between co-workers setting up a work-related event and then\, identify mom
ents when unconscious biases are demonstrated.

Face yoursel
f\, face reality: In front of a mirror\, participants watch as the
ir reflection fades away to reveal a different person staring back at them.
Through this touchscreen experience\, each new reflection shares a series
of biases they've experienced.

The bus is hosted by our partner
s at BJC. Rich Liekweg\, BJC president and chief executive officer\, signe
d the CEO Action Diversity & Inclusion Pledge last year and will visit the
bus that afternoon. Participants in the tour stop will be asked to sign the
ir own I Act On pledge.

The Check Your Blind Spots tour is created by
CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion\, the largest CEO-driven business com
mitment to improve diversity and inclusion within the workplace in the coun
try. BJC is a proud signatory of the CEO Action coalition and through the t
our\, we will help employees and our community explore the nuances of uncon
scious bias.

We're hopeful that the experience will help us spark a m
eaningful conversation around diversity and inclusion with colleagues and h
elp us continue to address challenges head-on in a respectful and understan
ding manner.
