The Community Outpatient Practice Experience (COPE) program was developed in 1991 as the first of its kind. Our unique program pairs pediatric residents with experienced outpatient community pediatricians throughout their three years of residency. Residents are paired with a preceptor (or small group of preceptors in the same practice) and attend clinic one afternoon per week throughout residency.
This partnership offers a rich and diverse learning experience, ensuring residents gain comprehensive, hands-on primary care training in a real-world setting.
