Anything you love about St. Louis so far? Parks! We have great parks with so many activities. Forest Park is home to St Louis Art Museum and St Louis Zoo both of which are free.

Why did you choose WashU? I’m a bit far from home but I really liked the vibe during my interview day! All the faculty I met were very kind and down to earth. I also knew I wanted a program that valued resident wellness (5-6 weeks of vacation during intern year is awesome, with two extra flex days, short-medium-long call, free catered lunches M-F, free parking, 401k matching, competitive salary in low cost of living city!) I also liked our concept of continuity clinic (COPE) in a real practice in the community with patient diversity (rural and urban) -- we see a ton of rare conditions!
Anything you love about St. Louis so far? Lots of places randomly with extremely scenic views (you will be at a normal park and see really pretty fountains randomly!) and free things to do, also lots of East Asian restaurants. There are very good Indian food and Taiwanese places here.

During the interview process, I really got the sense that this was a group of friendly and happy residents who genuinely enjoy spending time together, and this has absolutely proved to be the case! In addition to the opportunity to train in a big and busy children's hospital, I also really love the COPE program. This is where we are paired with a community pediatrician to work with throughout our residency, which is excellent exposure to primary care pediatrics!
Anything you love about St. Louis so far? Forest Park and all the amazing free things to do there (like the art museum and the zoo!), the botanical garden, and so much good food (especially the barbecue and Clementine's ice cream!)

Why did you choose WashU? When choosing a residency program the location had to offer opportunities for my wife's career outside of medicine, and St. Louis provided just that. We are both from the Northeast (and larger cities) and wanted to change things up while we had the opportunity. We chose WashU for the sense of community and wellness I felt on the interview day. It was clear that WashU would provide me with the education, training, and exposure I wanted and support me in my future career path.

Anything you love about St. Louis so far? I adore the parks! I frequently go to Tower Grove Park after work for a walk or run or plop down my picnic blanket and have dinner or just relax with a book! Anything you love about St. Louis so far? I love that there are so many free opportunities to get outside! Free yoga in Tower Grove Park on Saturdays, free Cardinals tickets from the program all season, the zoo (2nd in the nation!) and so much more popping up from week to week. I’m excited to see what’s inside as the weather cools down.

Anything you love about St. Louis so far? I absolutely love my neighborhood, the CWE! I can walk to work every morning and can also walk to Kaldi’s (great coffee) or Scarlett’s Wine Bar on weekends! The city is super easy to get around and has so many free or inexpensive activities too. Botanical Garden is incredible, you have to see the Climatron!!

Although I have only been in St. Louis for a few months, it has been a great place to live so far! I love that it is a medium-sized city with great food and fun things to do but is also close to great outdoor activities like hiking and mountain biking. And Forest Park is pretty amazing.

Why did you choose WashU? I wanted to train in a place where I would get to see a broad patient population with a wide range of pathology, but also in a program where I felt supported and enjoyed working alongside my colleagues. And I will say, I absolutely love my co-residents!!
Anything you love about St. Louis so far? The Tower Grove farmers market is amazing! There is great produce, and you can also meet and support other local artisans and makers. I’ve also enjoyed exploring so many restaurants with my co-interns.
