Wolfe appointed Pediatric Residency Program director

Katie Wolfe

Katie Wolfe, MD, has been appointed the new Pediatric Residency Program director, effective Sept. 1, 2023. She takes on this role from interim co-directors Christine Hrach, MD, and Patrick Reich, MD.

Wolfe completed her undergraduate education at Vanderbilt University and medical school at St. Louis University School of Medicine. From there, she completed a pediatric residency and pediatric critical care medicine fellowship at Northwestern University/Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and then joined their faculty from 2017- 2021. While at Lurie Children’s, Wolfe held leadership roles in undergraduate and graduate medical education, the hospital and the PICU.

She came to Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis in 2023 and serves as an associate program director for the PCCM fellowship and helps to develop educational programs for the PICU nurse practitioner team.

Wolfe earned a Master’s in Medical Education from the University of Cincinnati in 2022 and has received several teaching awards at the undergraduate and graduate medical education levels. She is a member of the Washington University Academy of Educators and is active in the Association of Pediatric Program Directors and Education in Pediatric Intensive Care research group.
