Allergy & Pulmonary Medicine Fellowships
Division of Allergy & Pulmonary Medicine
Pediatric Pulmonology: Providing twelve months of clinical training within a three-year fellowship, this ACGME-accredited pediatric pulmonology program includes six to seven months of clinical service or elective time during the first year, with the remaining five to six months distributed across the final two years.
Pediatric Allergy/Immunology: Offering advanced training in pediatric allergy and immunology, this two-year ACGME-accredited program includes an optional third year for fellows who wish to pursue research in greater depth.
Cardiology Fellowship
Division of Cardiology
Preparing fellows to become skilled pediatric cardiologists, this ACGME-accredited program trains physicians to independently supervise the diagnosis and care of infants, children and young adults with all forms of congenital and acquired cardiac disease. Most fellows complete two years of clinical rotations followed by one year dedicated to research and electives. The program offers three positions annually.
Child Abuse Pediatric Fellowship
Division of Emergency Medicine
Providing comprehensive training in child abuse pediatrics, this three-year ACGME-accredited fellowship leverages the clinical resources of the nationally renowned St. Louis Children’s Hospital and the academic and research opportunities offered by WashU Medicine.
Clinical Informatics Fellowship
Institute for Informatics, Data Science & Biostatistics
Offering a pathway to leadership in health informatics, the Institute for Informatics, Data Science and Biostatistics, together with the Department of Pediatrics, is pleased to present the Clinical Informatics Fellowship. As one of the newest subspecialties recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties, clinical informatics focuses on biomedical data, computational systems and clinical process improvement applied to medical practice. The program’s mission is to develop leaders who will advance the field of health informatics.
Critical Care Medicine Fellowship
Division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
Preparing graduates for rewarding careers in pediatric critical care medicine, this ACGME-accredited program supports fellows in exploring their individual clinical and academic interests while building a strong foundation of knowledge and experience. The program admits five fellows per year and participates in the NRMP Match for pediatric critical care medicine.
Emergency Medicine
Division of Emergency Medicine
Producing physicians who are master clinicians in the care of acutely ill and injured children, this fellowship combines outstanding clinical training with opportunities to become expert educators and conduct research that advances emergency medicine. Emphasizing individualized learning plans, flexible elective time and robust mentoring, the program helps fellows develop the skills and expertise needed to pursue fulfilling career paths aligned with their personal interests.
Endocrinology Fellowship
Division of Endocrinology & Diabetes
Preparing pediatricians for academic careers in pediatric endocrinology, this three-year ACGME-accredited program offers comprehensive training for those aspiring to become master clinicians, academic attendings or researchers in basic science or clinical practice. Our faculty is committed to helping fellows establish themselves as leaders in pediatric endocrinology.
Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition Fellowships
Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology & Nutrition
Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Fellowship: Matriculating two fellows per year and providing comprehensive clinical exposure, this three-year ACGME-accredited program offers outstanding research opportunities supported by exceptional clinical and research mentors.
Pediatric Transplant Hepatology Fellowship: Offering immersive training in transplant hepatology, this one-year ACGME-accredited supplemental fellowship provides hands-on experience with our active transplant hepatology service, inpatient and outpatient hepatology care, and procedural training in esophageal banding, sclerotherapy and liver biopsies. Fellows also rotate through adult hepatology, transplant pathology and interventional radiology.
Hematology & Oncology Fellowship
Division of Hematology & Oncology
Providing a comprehensive clinical curriculum across the full scope of the specialty, this three-year ACGME-accredited training program also offers an individualized track in clinical or basic science investigation. Fellows may pursue additional training beyond the three-year curriculum to deepen clinical sub-specialization or advance research endeavors.
Hospice & Palliative Medicine Fellowship

Promoting excellence in hospice and palliative medicine education and clinical care, this one-year ACGME-accredited program aims to develop future leaders in the field and ensure that patients with life-limiting illnesses receive informed, professional and compassionate care.
Hospitalist Medicine Fellowship
Division of Hospital Medicine
Developing expertise in neonatal and pediatric emergency and inpatient care, this two-year program equips fellows with skills in procedural sedation, circumcision, transport medicine and airway management.
Infectious Diseases Fellowship
Division of Infectious Diseases
Offering a broad and deep clinical experience along with a strong foundation in basic or clinical investigation, this three-year ACGME-accredited program features a flexible structure tailored to each fellow’s interests and prior experience.
Medical Biochemical Genetics Fellowship

Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine Fellowship

Imparting the knowledge, skills, and leadership needed to excel as clinical neonatologists, this ACGME-accredited three-year program includes 13 months of inpatient clinical service and nearly two years of protected research time.
Nephrology Fellowship

Preparing sub-specialist pediatricians for academic careers, this three-year program concentrates clinical responsibilities in the first year and provides opportunities for both clinical and basic science research during the following two years.
