Diversity Visiting Medical Student Elective

The Department of Pediatrics at St. Louis Children's Hospital is delighted to offer a funded visiting final year medical student elective for diverse applicants interested in pursuing a career in pediatrics.

As the pediatric teaching hospital for Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis Children's Hospital offers nationally recognized programs for physician training and research. Each year the hospital receives about 275,000 pediatric patient visits. St. Louis Children's Hospital offers comprehensive services in every pediatric medical and surgical specialty and as such is a wonderful place for a prospective pediatric applicant to expand their clinical acumen.

The Diversity Visiting Medical Student Elective will consist of 4 weeks of inpatient and outpatient clinical exposures with signification flexibility in each successful applicants schedule, predominantly under the stewardship of our award winning Pulmonology Department. We will also extend an offer of a guaranteed residency interview for categorical pediatric applicants applying through ERAS for the 2020 cycle. A stipend will be available to each successful applicant.
